Wogen's attempt to file for bankruptcy

Note: The following excerpts are from the 2003-04 Chapter 13 plan that the Wogens did not abide by the terms of. Hence, the judge dismissed their case. There is also a 2002-2003 case file that ended with the same result.

Given all that we know at this point, how could he afford to run for alderman without some financial backers...and what do they expect in return? I mean, printing 1,800 glossy "smear mailers" alone is a major expense. Ah, the truth will eventually come out.

who cares but you? it's certainly not my business, nor is it any of yours! you must be an animal to print such about someone elses personal finances!
I hope I never find out who you are!

Someone who appears to be that irresponsible with money has no business making any decisions about the taxpayers' money. Period.

Anonymous said...

I wouldn't call someone irresponsible after they almost lost their life!!!!!
It is the un-known persons on this site that are clueless and irresponsible!!!!!
How dare you!!!!

Yes, thats true. Victor was almost killed in a horrible construction accident. At first, the doctors did not know if he'd ever walk again. His wife had to quit her job to take care of him round the clock. Victor was not able to work for a very long time. They were close to losing everything they had. Victor's debts has absolutely NOTHING to do with being irresponsible! An un-fortunate accident CAN happen to anyone of us!!

Anonymous said...

That's a sad story.

But, the issue remains, so where did he get the money to pay for his campaign?

By the way, I used the phrase "appears to be irresponsible" which gives at least a benefit of the doubt. Please learn how to read more carefully, and stop making rash judgments. I followed the innocent until proven guilty theme but Anonymous assumed I was being nasty.

Just so Anonymous does not miss the point, if they almost lost everything, where did he get the money to pay for the campaign?

Anonymous said...

what do you mean by me making rash judgements?? YOU are the ones stating these headlines w/out posting the true facts BEHIND the headlines! YOU are making serious rash judgements, not I! You seem to have a very bad habit of wanting to attack when you find out that you did not have the entire story behind your headline!

Anonymous said...

You are very cruel and heartless!!
You should not print something when you dont know the reasons behind it!!! Especially if its going to hurt an entire family!
but, then again, we're well aware of the fact that you just dont care about anyone but yourself!

This response:

" Anonymous said...

what do you mean by me making rash judgements?? YOU are the ones stating these headlines w/out posting the true facts BEHIND the headlines!"

is not worth responding to because the Anonymous person assumed that Voter and Blog Owner(s) are the same person. Is this the same person who keeps writing as Anonymous elsewhere and confuses authors? Now I have been falsely accused of posting headlines. That is ironic considering that the same author continued to write, "YOU are making serious rash judgements, not I!" and that author certainly did make a rash judgment and assumed that I was the same as the blog author(s).

That's a good strategy--keep offending the voters. How long will voters be offended? Four years?

By the way, after that experience, did Mr. Wogen vote for Blagojevich who promised universal health care for everyone in Illinois before the November election? Democrats also tend to support workers for workers' compensation claims whereas Republicans tend to protect big businesses. No, Mr. Wogen did not even bother to vote in the November election.

Of course, my question did not get answered. That question is the business of voters. Where did Wogen get the money for his campaign? Thousands of dollars were spent. Did more than 150 people all donate small amounts?

Thanks to the blog owner adding a time stamp, it is now interesting that there are two posts by Anonymous just a few minutes apart.

Is this an attempt by the same author to make it look like there is more than one person writing as pointed out by someone several days ago?

The facts and documents speak for themselves. While misfortune can happen to anyone there seems to be a pattern throughout Mr. Wogens' adult life of not being able to manage his own personal finances. This pattern continues to this date.
While he seems to be content in his personal decison making it does leave one wondering how responsible and informed can his decisions on city matters be when he so obviously can't manage his own affairs.

Anonymous said...

You are wrong again! no, I did not assume that voter & blog owners were the same person! this is what I've been talking about... every time I go to explain the FACTS, you people think you have to tear my words apart & turn everything around to what you THINK it means! Everyone is reading way too much into everyone's post on this blog! That is what's causing so much confusion on this site!

Anonymous said...

Dear Anonymous,

Please slow down when you write and and stop being so angry. Then, perhaps your writing style will be more clear and it will include proper grammar so that all of us can understand what meanings you are trying to write.

I do not see any facts in the message you wrote here:

" Anonymous said...

The first sentence is opinion. The second sentence calls unknown persons (of which you are, too) "clueless" when the blog author merely copied court documents which are facts. How is it irresponsible to reprint court documents? Are court documents not facts?

And just for your information, I racked up my own medical bills and almost died from an illness. I certainly did not try to file for bankruptcy just so I could erase the hospital bills and other expenses. I did the responsible thing and paid them off. There were no luxuries such as taking the two daughters out to Bakers' Square while there were bills to pay. So I may be the only one here who can tell you to take your angry attitude and go get bent. But, I doubt it because lots of people have serious medical bills and they just pay them off. They don't go try to erase them by filing for bankruptcy.

The reason you cannot understand my grammar is because you are very close-minded. Just tell the truth now- The fact is, you do not want to hear what I have to say. You people are "bashers" and nothing else. There is absolutely nothing wrong w/my grammar. There you go, trying to make excuses for yourselves again.

Anonymous said...

I want to post another comment:
Again, you are clueless when it comes to Victor & him filing for Bankruptcy! If you were so smart as you think you are, then you would know when a person files Chapter 13 they are still responsible for paying back their debts!! Victor did NOT file Chapter 7 (which means you erase all debt!)
Therefore, no debt was erased whatsoever! That makes you a liar! Of course, I am going to have an angry attitude towards you! I have every right to- Especially, when I find false statements that are carelessly posted on this site!

Anonymous said...

Wow, correcting the grammar in the writing of Anonymous will be like shooting fish in a barrel.

The first sentence is a non-seqitur.

The second sentence should be as follows:

Just tell the truth now--the fact is that you do not want to hear what I have to say. You people are "bashers" and nothing else.

The third sentence made me laugh! How about spelling out all of the words and not being so lazy?

The fourth sentence is the only one that is correct.

I did notice an improvement in the quality of the writing.

Anonymous said...

I missed a sentence:

"You people are "bashers" and nothing else."

Who is it that you are quoting? If there is not a specific person being quoted, then the quote marks are redundant.

Anonymous said...

Theres definitely something wrong with you, Conan! Can't find anything wrong with someones post, so you have to put down their grammar? Wow, you're a big man now!
You must be the nutty professor!

Anonymous said...

Someone had the nerve to write that her or his grammar was very good, and that was not a fact.

Anonymous said...

Assuming that I am a nutty professor is both offensive to the real professors who live in this city (i.e. promoting a negative stereotype) and a completely wrong assumption.

Yes, there are professors who live in Ward 3 (although not Jill Draves, who is a secretary).

You may think picking on grammar is silly or stupid.

However, when you write, and you use poor grammar, punctuation, and/or spelling, your message is drowned out by the lack of attention to the language you are using to present your ideas.

Every teacher I've ever had has said pretty much the same thing. Every teacher you've ever had said pretty much the same thing.

They weren't wrong. People will respect your ideas and thoughts when you take the time to communicate them properly. Sure, we all make typos. But incorrect grammar is not a typo, it's sloppy and unintelligent writing.

And it detracts from whatever points you're hoping to make.

I also agree with Conan ... the professors I know are far from nutty, and have every right to take offense at your characterization of them as such.

It smacks of jealousy when people use such terms.

Brien

Jealousy you say? No, it's more like we're starting to feel sorry for you, as you're spending way too much time digging in someone else's personal affairs. We're beginning to think that you don't have a life of your own.

Yeah, that's great! What *ELSE* is Wogen hiding in his personal affairs?? The more Wogen supporters try to make fun of people digging, the more lots of us will think there is even more hidden to dig out!!

I say keep on digging!!!!! We should know what else elected officials are hiding!! So many of them end up taking money under the table, fixing bids to favorites, pay-to-play schemes, etc. Voters deserve politicans they can trust!

Anonymous said...

to keep digg'n:
you obviously have no life. We feel sorry for you too.

Brien said...

I do have a life of my own. I'm merely commenting on the posts here, and on your very brave, anonymous posts.

That doesn't take up much time, really. I have plenty of time for my hobbies, my family, my job, etc.

So, your specious claim that someone who dares to stand up to you and your opinion doesn't "have a life" is wrong.

You really need to work on those argumentation skills, Sparky. Between the straw men you guys keep building, the ad hominem attacks you keep making, and the total obfuscation of the facts of the case, you've shown that you are either unwilling or incapable of understanding the reasons why people like myself are upset.

Making fun of us doesn't make the problem go away. Feeling "sorry" for us, like we were tiny children who got a boo-boo, is a weak and pathetic attempt to distract others from the real crux of the matter.

The thing is, we'll always have the facts on our side. You, on the other hand, have all of your comic book fantasies of SuperWogen, chasing down the bad guys, barefoot, in his underwear, in a blizzard, uphill both ways.

At least we won't be needing Dulcinea's mirrors to show us Wogen's true nature. We already know.

This has to be the best entertainment in DeKalb right now! I am howling with laughter at Brien's comments. Four years of comedy, then Wogen is out as alderman, because he does not have enough sense to resign.

Anonymous said...

to best entertainment in dekalb-
yeah, you're right! Brien's comments are hilarious! I wish he'd wake up and realize that himself.

Brien said...

Hey, Anonymous ...

What's "hilarious" is your blatant stupidity. You can't support *anything* Wogen has done, and you have no rebuttals to any factual information posted here.

All you can do, with your pathetic and weak argumentation "skills", is try to make fun of anyone who dares post anything you disagree with.

Such rebuttals show your lack of sophistication and your obvious lack of the application of basic logic. I pity someone like you, because you'll never fully comprehend the issues at hand, and you'll never be able to adequately defend yourself or your boy Wogen.

Do yourself a favor and stop posting. The more you post your childish, immature, and uneducated responses, the more you prove to the rest of us that Wogen has surrounded himself with all the wrong people.

My dad always warned me about getting into a battle of wits with unarmed people. I regret that I failed to heed his warning in this case.

Anonymous said...

To Brien-
I am sorry you feel that way. I do not have the need to work on my so-called "pathetic & weak argumentation skills", as that is not my #1 goal when commenting on this blog. I also do not have to defend myself to you or anyone, nor do I care to get into a "battle of wits" as you have said. I only wish to present the truth as I know it.
You also stated that I have no rebuttals to any factual information posted here...
I would like to correct you by saying that I have posted several rebuttals to in-correct/false info that has been written on this blog.
For some reason, no one pays attention to those rebuttals at all.
I am not here to argue w/anyone, including you. My #1 goal for commenting on this site is to keep everyone honest. (I am not accusing anyone of purposely writing false statements- Although, there has been things said on this site that is totally un-true). When I do read a false statement, I intend on correcting it right away.
I do understand what you are saying Brien. Everyone has their own opinions and different feelings toward the 3rd ward election. Everyone does have a right to say how they feel etc...
It is just very frustrating when people post on this site & they do not tell the entire story. Perhaps, those people do not know the entire story behind the headline & they will only ASSUME that they know. That eventually leads into other false comments being said & before you know it, an argument has ensued. Like I mentioned above, I do not wish to argue with anyone here. I do know all the facts & if I find a false statement, I will not hesitate to post the truth.

Anonymous said...

Sorry, the word of an Anonymous person writing comments and saying that is the truth is not good enough in this situation. It might be for other situations but with a proven liar, anything called a "fact" or "the truth" needs to be proven to be supported by evidence. A man is only as good as his word, according to many, and Wogen's previous lies demonstrated that his word was worthless. Therefore, anything remotely related to Wogen needs to be backed up with evidence.

Anonymous said...

I do not have to back up anything w/evidence. I already know the truth. If I find a false statement on this site, I will correct it.
It is clearly your choice if you wish to believe me or not.
I am not here to mis-lead anyone by any means. I only want to provide the truth to all that visit this site.
